LOVE IS HAND-MADE

Dear You, I started making guitars, mandolins, and ukes for the love of the art and history behind these instruments. In my 10+ years of luthery, I have had the privilege of handling a variety of antique instruments, some dating as far back as the late 1700's. Any time I had one of these masterpieces on my bench, it would send my imagination on a wild ride. Being a musician myself, I gained a huge appreciation for a guitar's intricate artistry and function. When I set out to make my own instruments, I had in mind to craft them with all respect to the past, and all eyes to the future. I decided to produce something that would make an impression by preserving the art that would last through generations. And to step up the history and quality, I also decided to use as much re-purposed wood as possible. Anything from old, irreparable furniture, downed trees local to our area, stirrers from the coffee shop just down the street, irreversably wrecked or salvaged pianos. Any wood that is not re-purposed comes from suppliers that practice eco-friendly, sustainable harvesting techniques. Not to mention these guitars, mandolins and ukes are 100% hand-made right here in Hartsville, South Carolina, a place where folks are passionate about art. Each one of our instruments has its own story to tell. I love music, I love guitars, and I seriously love what I do! My hope, is that when you play one of these instruments, you'll feel the freedom to tell your own story, and have a beautiful piece of functional, hand-crafted art to tell it with for generations to come. -BA |
